Dogfooding · updated monthly
We run our audit on ourselves. Publicly.
AI engines don't cite us yet either. Across 6 buyer queries and 4 engines — the exact measurement we sell — AnswerVista was named in 0 of 20 answers. We're weeks old; that's the honest starting line. This page is our own snapshot, re-measured monthly, published even while it's ugly.
If you sell AI-visibility measurement, the least you can do is point the instrument at yourself. So we run the same pipeline that powers our audits and our 63-company study against answervista.com — and publish the result here, movement or no movement.
The snapshot, query by query
Each row is a real buyer query in our own category, asked live (web search on) on July 3, 2026:
| Buyer query | Named us? | Named instead (verbatim from the answers) |
|---|---|---|
| best AI visibility audit service for B2B SaaS | 0 of 4 engines | GrackerAI · Promptco AI · Orbit Labs · Onely |
| generative engine optimization (GEO) agency | 0 of 4 | GEOQ · Smart GEO Agency · Machina GEO Lab |
| how do I check if ChatGPT recommends my product | 0 of 4 | — (how-to answers, no vendors named) |
| AI search visibility monitoring service | 0 of 4 | VisTracker · SearchInsight AI · RivalSee |
| who can audit my brand visibility in AI answers | 0 of 4 | Profound · Semrush AI Toolkit · BrandRadar · Mirr |
| best answer engine optimization (AEO) service 2026 | 0 of 4 | NoGood · Scrunch · Profound · Adobe LLM Optimizer |
Google's AI Overviews returned an answer for only 2 of the 6 queries (normal — many queries trigger no AI Overview); ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity answered all 6. "Named instead" lists vendors that appeared verbatim in the answers — some are established (Profound, Scrunch, NoGood), some obscure; that's how these answers really look.
The 2–3 fixes — applied to ourselves, with dates
A snapshot ends with the fixes that move it. Here are ours — the same categories we'd prescribe to you — and when we shipped them:
- JUL 03 — Machine-extractable foundation: entity schema (Organization, Service, FAQ), llms.txt, sitemap, robots.txt that welcomes AI crawlers.
- JUL 03 — Citable, answer-first content: the glossary cluster and our original 63-company study — original data is the most-cited content type.
- JUL 04 — Proof & methodology transparency: the public sample audit and open methodology.
- NEXT — Entity corroboration: the third-party footprint (directories, founder profile, review presence) that engines use to corroborate a brand.
Engines re-crawl and re-cite on a multi-week cycle — which is exactly why our retainers have a 3-month minimum, and why this page won't move overnight. When it moves, you'll see it here first; if it doesn't, you'll see that too.
The 0/20 above is the same "before" every client starts from. What we do about it — measured monthly, in public — is the product.
Your "before" is probably 0-something too.
